Kia Ora Whānau

If you are having a clean out of your child's toys anytime this year, we would love to have some new toys/games/equipment/resources for our tamariki to explore. We do not need anymore soft toys but things like lego, board games, dollies, cooking toys, plastic food, cars, trains, tools, shops or books. Things that our tamariki can manipulate with their hands and things that trigger their imagination. A lot of the things you see in the classrooms have been gathered from op shops so they do not need to be new, just as long as they have a little bit of life left in them. If you do have anything to donate please bring it to school and pass on to your teacher.
Thank you from the Tararua 1 teachers :)

Te Wakahuia assembly slideshow and song!

Te Waka Huia has assemblies every Friday morning to help celebrate our learning.  Parents are always welcome.  Here is another picture of our runners who were 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Congratulations to the winners of our year 1 cross country...

Reading Eggs at home

Kia ora whānau, please take some time out in the afternoons to help your children sign into the reading eggs online interactive website http://readingeggs.co.nz/

This is a website built to assist our tamariki learn to read.
Each child at Hokowhitu School have had their subscription/membership paid for by the school and we really want to make the most of this amazing resource.

Tamariki will be working through the levels at school and it would be great if this learning can continue at home
