Life Education

Over the past 2 weeks we have been to visit Tim and Harold the Giraffe in the life education classroom.  We have been learning about what our bodies need to be happy and healthy and what a balanced diet contains.  Here's a look at what we have been up to ...

Welcome to Term 2

Hi everyone and welcome back to what is sure to be a busy term.  There is lots of excitement around our new inquiry topic - 'Planet Earth and Beyond', and I know this will a topic that stirs up lots of curiosity in our children.
Home learning has begun & Thank you to those parents who have signed up to the Class Dojo this is a great way for me to send out reminders as well as a chance for you to see what points your child has been earning in class.

This term we welcome Indigo, George and Ruan to our class - we are very happy to have you as part of our Rūma Tāhi team!

Kia Ora Whānau

If you are having a clean out of your child's toys anytime this year, we would love to have some new toys/games/equipment/resources for our tamariki to explore. We do not need anymore soft toys but things like lego, board games, dollies, cooking toys, plastic food, cars, trains, tools, shops or books. Things that our tamariki can manipulate with their hands and things that trigger their imagination. A lot of the things you see in the classrooms have been gathered from opshops so they do not need to be new just as long as they have a little bit of life left in them. If you do have anything to donate please bring it to school and pass onto your teacher.
Thank you from the Tararua 1 teachers :)

Week 9

Some of the girls from Rūma Tahi and Rūma Rua had been practising a show at lunch time to perform in front of the class. This show sparked an interest in many other tamariki which lead to us having an 'on the spot' talent show. Check out some of the talent's from Rūma Tahi and Rūma Rua tamariki.

Our Class Treaty

As a class we wrote our own treaty and signed it with our handprints!

Whanau/Family Wall

In Ruma Tahi we have been learning about each others families.

We would love to add some more of our families to the wall - Could parents please send along a family photo, or email one to Mrs Guerin to print out - Thanks!

Welcome to Ruma Tahi - We reside at the end of the long corridor in  Superhero Headquarters (aka Room 1).  Our Teacher is Mrs Guerin and we have 19 superheroes in our class.  What is our main superpower you ask???
